Barbara Larocque to Speak at Historical Society Meeting

The Wolfe Island Historical Society is pleased to announce that
Barbara Larocque,
will speak about her historical book about Wolfe Island
Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m.
Wolfe Island Community Hall.

The late Charles Wall a resident of the Island, began a comprehensive research project during the 1930’s when he first resided on the Island and then continued it in his retirement when he returned to the Island with his wife Kathleen (nee Kenney) from 1965-1993. Kathleen was born on Wolfe Island and her roots are traceable to the mid-1800s.

Barbara LaRocque (nee Wall) his daughter, took up the challenge of completing the history and publishing a book using her father's manuscripts compiled during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
It is anticipated that the largely untold history of Wolfe Island, Ontario will be published in the near future and will be replete with maps, vintage photos, illustrations and recollections of a countless number of island elders from 1930s to the present time.
